Welcome to Rewilding Mental Health

Rewilding refers to the process of rebuilding self-sustaining environments and returning to natural processes by removing artificial or perceived barriers.

Hi, I’m Lauren, the owner and therapist behind the name, Rewilding. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado.

I have a core belief that within us, we already have what we need for wellness, wholeness, hope, and healing. I also know that life’s challenges, stressors, circumstances beyond our control, and even our own choices, can create barriers to being truly at home and in tune with ourselves.

How I Work

Though my perspectives and work continue to evolve, the modalities and approaches to which I return are:

  • person-centered

  • emotionally-focused

  • strengths-based

  • solution-oriented

Rewilding, in my view, is also deeply tied to creativity, play, freedom, and joy.

I love to incorporate the following into my practice:

  • play

  • narrative work

  • expressive arts

  • mindfulness

I also draw from the helpful frameworks of CBT and DBT*.

My absolute favorite work is with adolescents and young adults, and my experience is largely with kids and teens seeking support with: anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, suicidality, challenges in regulation, executive functioning, life transitions, and/or relationships.

About Me & Rewilding

Rewilding is born out of a desire to honor and celebrate on my own journey towards restoration and inner strength, and a desire to create space for young people to pursue the same. My hope is for Rewilding to exist to provide a safe, expansive, and explorative environment for individuals seeking counseling services.

My career in mental health began in case management and advocacy, primarily in partnership with schools and families. In 2020, I completed my Master of Science in School Counseling degree at Concordia University Wisconsin, and began serving students ages 5-21 in publics schools. In 2024, I began to pursue my license as an LPCC and my journey toward a clinical focus, and in summer 2026, I became an LPC.

When I am not at Rewilding, you will find me still working with kids and families in the school setting! Beyond work, I love hunting down quality coffee, playing with my golden retrievers, enjoying live music and theatre, a good movie, skiing, hiking, podcasts, discovering a hidden restaurant gem, gardening, and adventuring with my husband and friends.
